Soy Protein health claim is approved by Ministry of Health Malaysia (FSQD) as it can be used on labels of products containing soy protein; it is claimed helps to reduce cholesterol. According to various human studies, diet that high in soy protein can lead to decrease level of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides. This is because the high L-arginine contain in soy protein which will accompanied by decreases of cholesterol levels.
Study released from Osteoporosis International stated that consuming soy protein can help in increasing the bone health, slow down the process of bone loss, lowering the possibility of osteoporosis.
